The training activities of the Node cover a spectrum of topics for which there is considerable expertise, such as next-generation sequencing, non–coding RNA computational functional analysis, functional imaging data analysis, PPI network analysis, training activities related to the GALAXY environment (pipelines, virtualization, HPC), databases and knowledge discovery, data mining, largescale genome analysis, proteomics, biomedical informatics, biostatistics, phylogenetics as well as data structures and algorithms, software engineering, programming languages, Grid/Cloud computing, and distributed/parallel algorithms. Courses are aimed primarily at the Greek community but they are also open to international participants. Moreover, Software and Data Carpentry certified instructors from the participating institutions provide targeted courses on selected topics (Data Analysis and Visualization in R, Genomics workshops etc.) for the wider Greek community.
